According to Foresight News, crypto media CoinDesk has issued a security alert warning of fraudsters impersonating CoinDesk reporters on social media, charging fees for writing articles and sending phishing links. CoinDesk clarified that while its reporters do indeed contact strangers in an attempt to find, verify, and write stories, they do not actively request payment for writing articles. CoinDesk has listed the names of all its reporters and editors in its masthead for verification purposes.
CoinDesk also advises users to check the URL before clicking on any links to ensure they come from the correct domain.
