According to PANews, Stellar blockchain has announced that its network validators have voted in favor of upgrading the mainnet to Protocol 20. With the implementation of Protocol 20 and smart contracts on the mainnet, a new era of Stellar's smart contract technology stack has begun. The team stated that validators plan to gradually increase the transaction limit on Soroban to achieve full capacity operation.
As the transaction limit increases, Stellar will enter its first phase, with over 160 builders and projects from the testnet beginning to deploy on the mainnet. Once the projects are deployed and the network undergoes stress testing, dApps will be launched for everyone to use.
