According to PANews, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has postponed its decision on whether to allow the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) to offer spot Bitcoin ETF options trading. As per a document dated April 8, the SEC's delay will impact the options trading of Bitwise Bitcoin ETF (BITB), Grayscale Bitcoin Trust (GBTC), and other trusts listed on the NYSE that hold Bitcoin. The securities regulator stated, 'The Commission believes it is necessary to designate a longer period to take action on the proposed rule change, so there is ample time to consider the proposed rule change.'
The next deadline for the SEC to decide on the proposed rule change by the NYSE is May 29, at which time a decision to approve, reject, or postpone must be made.
